Charlie Bucket, a boy from an impoverished family under the shadow of a giant chocolate factory, wins a candy bar contest and is given a tour, along with four other children, of the amazing factory run by the eccentric Willy Wonka and his staff of Oompa-Loompas.

I myself don't care for most remakes. Willi Wonka is a classic. At first, I thought this was going to be a sequel where Charlie (the boy who won the factory in the original) himself has aged and become as odd as Wonka. And he too is now looking for an heir. But alas, it seems it's just a remake. :\

I liked the idea of Marylin Manson doing Wonka.

I thought that Burton and Manson couldve made a different type of Wonka movie. Darker and more creepy. But it looks to just be an update and not a re-invention. :(

Edit- On the plus side, the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy is out May 2005 and theres a teaser on that site! :)

What the Fuck? Thats the dumbest trailer for anything I've ever seen. Gigli looks like it deserves an Acadamy Award compaired to this crap. Even Depp looks disappointing.
