:wtf:
It's all right here. (http://www.comingsoon.net/news/topnews.php?id=7274) Sam and Bruce are going to produce a remake of the film that launched their careers.
This can't be real. On one hand, Sam and Bruce are involved, on the other, they're remaking a movie close to my heart. I don't know how to feel!

I'd rather see Evil Dead 4.
Or an AOD remake..:o

Raimi will not direct the remake, so Ghost House is looking for a helmer to reinvent the franchise before a script is written.

Meh, The original is perfect and far from old or even retro. It isn't dated in anyway and it's not that old. As compare to something like TCM. If there going go in a tottally different direction and take on the concept then fine I support it, if not and it's just going be the same thing again then I don't. The fans on the other hand will hate either choice but most likely choose the latter, already pretty much ensuring this movie will be mediocre at best.

More on the upcoming remake. (http://www.comingsoon.net/news/topnews.php?id=8089) It doesn't really say anything new, but it's nice to hear that they're being cautious about it.

An Interview with Sam Raimi on the Remake. Also news on the Grudge 2 and Spider-Man 3. (http://www.comingsoon.net/news/topnews.php?id=8225)
This interview pretty much confirms something I suspected from the begining, there will be no Ash in the remake. I knew this would happen for several reasons, the most obvious being that Bruce Campbell is Ash and it would be near impossible to accept anyone else as the character.

Id like to think that they would just leave the trilogy alone, but judging by that theyre definitely not going to.
Why not give the movie another name entirely and keep it away from The Evil Dead Trilogy?
It might be great, in its own right.

That's a very good idea, Atrax.
