What will you be watching this Halloween?

Halloween is the perfect time of the year for movies. Especially the shitty horror kind. Do you got your schedual all worked out for next Sunday? Here's mine:

1. Night of the Living Dead (1968)

Hokey classic. I just love it. From it's poor acting to it's idiot characters, just a great movie all around.

2. Jaws (1975)

Brilliant film. Wonderful high seas adventure filled with claustrophobic horror. This is a must.

3. Alien (1979)

It's good but I'm not really big on this movie, however it'll make a great companion peice for the following movie.

4. Predator (1987)

Arnold kicking ass. Wicked alien design by Stan Winston. Fast pace. What more could you want?

5. Freddy vs. Jason (2003)

This one actually resulted from a plan to watch the movies of the major slashers that I considered best. Leatherface = Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2, Michael Myers = Halloween, Jason Voorhees = Freddy vs. Jason, Freddy Krueger = Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors, Chucky = Child's Play 3 (yeah, you read that right. I love that movie). Problem was that the only one of that group that I had was Freddy vs. Jason. So there you have it.

6. Evil Dead (1981)

Bruce Campbell. Sam Raimi. Deadites. Tree rape. It's all here, except for "Groovy..."

7. Evil Dead II (1987)

Can't stop with one. Gotta keep going!

8. Army of Darkness (1993)

And we're done. Ash kicking ass, baby.

myself, I'd just got for some of the Freddie movies. They were more tolerable then some of the Jason movies. I mean Jason in New York?? Plus, I loved the ways Freddie played before killing people. More imaginative than Jason's ways (all of the Jasons).

Alien and Alien 3 seemed to be more 'scary' movies than the action-oriented Aliens (Alien 2), imo. I love Aliens but for Halloween, I'd go for Alien 1.

Might check out a Prom Night movie or two, as well (anyone remember that?)

Maybe I'll check a pirated version of CINO after to relieve the dark tension and just laugh. :)

I agree. The Freddy films weren't exactly great, but at least they tried something different with each film.

The new one technically could be a sequel to that terrible Night of the Living Dead remake.

I haven't seen the original Dawn. No video store in town has it and it pisses me off. I love the original Night and really want to see it.
