As you all should know, The Alias isn't officially open yet. We'd like the best possible ways to attract quality members here while keeping the site's content "adequate". Meaning nothing like hardcore porn, gore and such.

Do any of you have any suggestions for The Alias? Any and all suggestions will be considered. Your participation is hoped and appreciated. You may either click on POST REPLY at the bottom right of the box to give feedback or you may PM me. .

Change The Color scheme to a blue and silver &black.. Uh. Make a Gallery. A Forum is fine.. mmm. enable html..And dont base the whole website on a forum. lol. i know this is a test site kidov thingy... maybe i can come up with a website and send the whole thing to you for review. If i do that i could have it finished within a week. or at Maximum 2. Depending on homework ect. I will do this for free. That's a great logo you made there, Cal. I like it. But we'll be keeping the scheme as is. One reason being that I worked my buttocks off on all the buttons and other graphics you see here on the board. Sorry. But I know another member here who suggested the blue scheme thing. :)

About enabling HTML: no. Sorry. Enabling HTML on vBulletin boards have their drawbacks. Just try to make do with the vB tags, please.

This site won't be based entirely on a forum. Dragnfire22 and I have something planned but The Alias staff would appreciate suggestions for other things that could make this site better and more than just a board.

Viper and Bryan aren't here but I'm sure they'd be with me when I say: thanks a bunch for the free offer for a website. In fact, I'll keep this in mind since we do hope to expand the site to more than just this board. Will your offer still be on the table later on?

Hmmm, an art forum WOULD be nice.

So would another color scheme. Like you can keep the red, and then make a blue, green or black one. Not eliminate this one, just make others, maybe?

A few more smileys would be cool, but not a necessity. Or maybe fix some of the ones that are already here. EEK doesnt seem EEKy to me.

Just a personal preference, but smaller avatars would be nice. I think 50x50 and 30k would be perfect, but again, that's just my opinion.

Im with you on the art forum, but I've kind of grown on the red color scheme myself..A few more smilies might be nice, but like you said not really a necessity...To me, if you're going to make the site based on a comic (which im not even sure you are) then you need an easier way to get back to the home page..or at least a more obvious way..but thats juts my opinion..i think the only other thing would be the faq section..but its not really a high priority...oh ..and..Drakon..will you be MY girlfriend? :o

1--Don't get me wrong; I like the red. But a change would be nice. Not a necessity tho.

2--The site COULD use a better way to the homepage.

3--I believe a FAQ is in the works as we speak. It would make sense to have one.

4--Of course I'll be your Girlfriend.Who else would I be holding out for? :x

I could get a chat room installed.. oh wait. nope. we dont have any html coding allowed.. LOL. hmm . Another idea is to let us load our imgs up to the actuall website. (store it locally) cause my bandwidth on myimgs.com was used up in 36 hours. and i use 4 pictures. and they were small!:(

nah. That`s okay. I appreciate it though. We already have something planned out for a chat idea anyway. And without enabling HTML so please stop insinuating this, we won`t enable it and that's final. And uploading to the server is a definite NO. Sorry. V1p, Bry and I did consider this early on but in the long run, this is not good for the server space.

that's honestly not needed unless we decide to set up a gallery page, that is. Hmm....there's an idea to consider....

good suggestion. I've spoken of this with v1p and Bry. We're in agreement that this idea is good but should be done later on. Thanks for the idea.

one question..typically chat rooms (not always) have a theme of sorts to them? the alias right now is just a forum..what would you chat about? i think you need to get some ideas on how to expand the site before you chat =p

sorry I didn`t answer sooner. I missed this. A "maybe" to the alternate schemes. But definitely not in the near future. As for the torrent and movies...well 'torrent's got some 'legal' dangers that a board should always be careful of. What do you mean by "movies"?

Oh, and I have a slight issue with the kind of displays in the Babe forum...perhaps I've been influenced too much by a more conventional upbringing, but my fears of having younger people wandering through and looking at such things is rather intense. I would not want to be a parent wandering past the computer to see little 10-year-old Billy looking at some naked woman giving everyone a free shot on the screen. You would lose a lot of potential posters, that way, and I'd hate to see that in such a brand new board that has been awesomely set up. Of course, considering that I am fairly new...hee hee... my words might not have much weight behind them. Just think about it.

For myself, I won't support boards that show off such blatant pornographic natures. If this continues, then I won't be returning.

I don't know about all of this..The password thing might be a good idea, perhaps given to members with a birthday starting at a certain point, say over 18? If thats even possible..But to me, Calypso has a point, the kids DONT have to click the links that say nudity, nobody's making them.. and also, if kids are learning to exploit men and women, it wont be ONLY from this website. Society in general exploits them more than anything, NOT a stupid forum with some partially naked men and women in it.

lying about your birthday isn't hard at all. And yes, it's possible to set that (via a modification install). No, kids don't have to click on the links but I don't think that's the real issue here. Just because this won't be the only site they may be learning to exploit men and women from isn't an excuse to do it. If we're not part of the solution, it DOESN'T mean we have to add to part of the problem.

I actually can't believe some are blowing up over a ban on nudity....or is that not the issue behind this? :|

that is ok, i can understand how busy you are. what i ment by movies? i have no idea. torrents? must've been typing late at night.

the fourm is looking good and all the bugs seem to be out of the system. i still would like some more choices as to the color theme, but i know that is asking for a bit much, atleast now.

ah. Thanks. Let us know if there are any more bugs. I've come across a minor issue with the PM pop-up notification and the page links when you search for an individual's posts. It's apparently a bug in vBull itself. We'll try to get this solved in the near future. Again, let us know if you spot anything else.

actually, you might want to read the sticky rules thread in the Babe forum. When we made that forum, we specifically chose the word Babe to avoid discrimination. It`s for both sexes as stated in the Babe forum rules. :)

You`re allowed custom titles after 1000 posts and about 90 days of being a registered member.

Maybe Beautiful People would have been better. It's kind of ambiguos without hinting at specific gender endearments for really hot and attractive people.
