Ever since August, the thought to change the update schedule of Q4 had crept into my mind. I don't mean to just change it to a different day of the week but rather to move it to something like a bi-weekly update (as in every two weeks).
My reasons are various. One being that I spend an average of ten hours of drawing/colouring per page and this is not counting the amount of time I spend brainstorming story ideas, writing the script and thumbnailing the pages. A few of the recent fairy tale pages took over 20+ hours each to draw and colour because they were more complicated than other pages. After 64 comics, I guess I've gotten worn out from spending every week on the same medium, same subject matter (Quarter Four) and same art style. I'd thought about ending the comic altogether but it feels too soon for a semi-serial like Q4 and it's my baby. Perhaps the back pains and having to draw this whole thing standing up now has also gotten on my nerves.
Anyway, do you guys have any thoughts on this probable updating change? Any suggestions, maybe? Or, in 1GF's case, affectionate insults?

You suck.
Is that affectionate enough?

Do what you have to do, Joey, but I for one like the strip an awful lot and don't want it to end. I will have to live with every two weeks

Here's my idea: If you can't keep doing the strip, but don't want to stop doing it, don't end it. Do like a "season finale" or whatever for now, and continue when you think you can.

Constincy is nice, but if it's making it less pleasant to do the strip for you just release them whenever you want.

ya.... i love the strip and you're doing a great job.... so i'm fine with waiting until you can get them done.... doesn't have to be a particular day..... i say go with what bryan said and just do them when you can and want to.....

Dew said it best. We love it, but not at the cost of yourself.

At the cost of myself? How so?
And Bryan: you die only twice.
Oh and I really like 1GF's "season" idea though that will unfortunately affect readership outside of my friends circle and this tiny forum. Oh well.

At the cost of yourself, meaning that if you have no desire to put 100% into it, for whatever reason [stifled creativity, back pain, saving the world from aliens], then it isn't something that should be done.

I think the movie "Misery" pops in my head when I think of a season finale, not the subject of the movie, but just that it was a bad movie all together.
What about the possibility of having a "Guest Artist" appear, if you need some time off from writing and drawing.

Excuse me...?

Perhaps. I've brushed off a couple of guest comic offers/requests in the past year and a half, though. I prefer to keep Q4 my "thing" alone but circumstances do change the way stuff are planned...

Just, don't ask. There was a marathon of that movie. It was bad the first time, and it got worse from there. Like getting road rash for 50 miles.
And the guest artist thing would be for a strip or two, not meaning to be peppermint.

Do you look at what you type or just bash your head into your keyboard and hit submit?

LOL, no i was trying to spell permanent. And for whatever reason, the spell-checker recommended peppermint, and everyone knows peppermint is delicious, so i thought I'd bring some taste to the forum.
And to answer your question Tony: I zone in and out.

I find that insulting! Just in the fact that I do not live in Apple Valley, but Rosemount. A place that many believe is a rose on a mountain.
