Holy crap. Everybody always imagines that he would die by animal, but a stingray came completly out of left field.
This makes me sad. Croc Hunter rocked.

It saddens me, too. At least he died doing what he loves. And he's made a decent amount of money for his family to get along fine after his death.
May you debunk all the dangerous animal myths in your respective heaven.

Yeah, his youngest is coming up on 3 soon the article said. That's sad. Wonder how the kid will take it when he's old enough to understand what happened.
Got to admit, Zilla's right. Never thought he'd end up dead from a Stingray sting. Straight to the heart too, poor bastard never had a chance.
R.I.P Croc Hunter.

even at 3 the kid has to know his "daddy"...... so its going to be tough time for them all.... its a good thing, like you said, that they wont have to worry about finances on top of it though..... still..... what are the chances.... strait into the heart?..... gosh.... thats creepy..... ive been swimming with sting rays in the caribean..... had like 50 of them all around me..... one even swam ontop of and over me.... scary to think about....

I'm really saddened by this.. I always liked Irwin. It's weird to think that he's not around anymore.
Miss ya. :\

Yeah, I know we had deep thoughts about this last night as well, but again, it does indeed suck.

Stingrays Found Mutilated After Irwin's Fatal Sting
source (http://www.kirotv.com/news/9825184/detail.html)
The death of the "Crocodile Hunter" appears to have triggered a war on stingrays in Australia.
A fisheries department official said up to 10 of the normally docile fish have been found dead and mutilated on Australia's eastern coast since Steve Irwin was killed by one last week. At least two had their tails lopped off.
The official said fishermen who inadvertently catch the rays sometimes cut off their tails to avoid being stung.
The head of Irwin's conservation group said any retribution is unacceptable. He said "that's the last thing Steve would want."
Rays are usually shy and only lash out with their barbed tail when stepped on or frightened. Few people die from the poison.
Irwin was fatally stung in the chest.

Leave it to people to let their impulses get the better of them. Can't really say I blame them but Irwin wouldn't want people killing Stingrays, no matter what they did to him.
