But it's funny to think about, a redhead playing Gwen and a blonde playing MJ.

It's possible that she would be in it.. I hear that Kirsten won't be coming back for a 4th, so they might get rid of her.. Who knows.

It's possibly true. I don't see why someone like Raimi wouldn't touch upon this sooner or later. Gwen Stacy's an important part of the Spidey lore.

I just don't see why they didn't use her in the first movie. The story would have been more suited to her instead of MJ, IMO. Only exception is to have her die at the end.

Well, that'd be bad for storytelling. Killing off a main non-villian character in the first movie is never a great idea, it would make the audience feel alienated from the hero. Now, had they done something just to throw the fanboys a bone [such as a Gwen Stacy tombstone in the graveyard at the end], then it could be cool.

I don't see it being bad storytelling at all. Alienating the audience? Don't see it. Sorry.
