Text Based RPG

In another forum im on, we have a text based rpg. ppl make a char with custom gear and a single "superpower." However, this power must have a downside. i was thinking, and i brought this up with Bryan before, that we should make one too. every1 gets 1 and only 1 character. ur char can have 2 weapons, 2 shields, 2 armors, and 1 pet. u can also give urself a little background or u can save that for the game. to play, u basiclly write a short-story for ur char. u can use other ppls char, but ull need their permission first. i just thought this would be and interesting thing to try. there's no limit to how short or long the story can be. leave input here.

me and LGB me made a text based rpg back in high school.... except we made it so big the crappy computers couldn't handle it anymore.... anywho...i wouldn't mind seeing how this works... so ya....

Just like i said in the first post, u make up a story. i can provide "missions" if u have trouble coming up with an idea, or u can make one up urself. I use Microsoft Word to write the story, and just copy/paste it when its ready.

Yea, use a random number generator that goes though each of the dice D4 D6 D8 D10 D12 D20 D100, those are all the dice you need to make the game go by.

God, you bastards are almost as bad as me and my groups. One time with team A, we spent an hour and a half talking about Droids having sex by connecting via USB cables, and two weeks ago with group B, we were talking about Wookies and Ewoks dealing with our team tech guy [who got a +20 in all his tech skills], like all he has to do is will the door open on the ship to open it, and he opens it with his hand, like a Jedi using Force Move. The Ewok tries for hours, with no luck "Chuba Chuba, Yub Yub?". Or the Wookie wearing the bling-bling and raising the roof.

the movies may not be right, but they r funny as hell. but back on to the topic. i shall demonstrate a simple character sheet.

Name: Raven

EXP: 0/100
Health: 100/100
Power: 100/100

Defense:
Melee: 25
Ranged: 25

Stats:
STR: 0 - Strength
DEX: 0 - Dexterity
INT: 0 - Inteligence
END: 0 - Endurance
CHR: 0 - Charsima
LUK: 0 - Luck

Race: Human
Subrace: Dragon
Weapons: Long Sword
Armor: Steel Plate
Shield: Iron Shield
Pet: None
Special Ability: Half-Dragon Form.
Cost: 100. 50 to hold.
Pros: Attack power up. Defense power Up. Flight.
Cons: After effect wears off, user become weak, cutting max health and power by 50% and lowering all defenses by 10.

This is basic enough. the more ur char does with the stroy, the better his/her stats can become. If a quest is offered, the rewards will be posted with it.

Example: The town is overrun with goblins. make sure none escape.
Reward: EXP: 50
Gold: 50
Stat point(s): 1

Remember, only 1 character per person. if this rpg ever happens, ill post offical rules and whatnot. but it seems as if every1 is behind the idea, so....

My question is, when can we start. like i said before, it seems every1 likes the idea. and i know the capt is dying to wear a kilt and throw his mighty things. so is the RPG a :up: or a :down:

pretty much. u can make up a story or if u have trouble coming up with an idea for ur story, i can offer "quests" these will give u a place to start. take this one for example...

"Goblins are attacking the town. Let none escape."

u can use that topic to make a stroy from. say that u just arived into town and u were ambushed by gobs. describe how u fight back, how they gang up on u, if help arives, and how u came to victroy. on another forum im on, im using Microsoft Word to write my story one "Entry" at a time (its like a journal) and after im happy with the entry, ill spell check, copy, and paste.
