My favorite game with Mario in it would be Super Smash Bros, but since that isn't a choice, I'm going with Super Mario Bros. because it's so simple yet is always so much fun to play.

Yea man, SSB and SSBM rule. Hella fun games

But, since it's not there, I dunno. I'd have to just say Mario 64 becuase once you get all 120 stars and get the 99 lifes from Yoshi, there are so many inventive ways you can kill yourself.

I think he was just going for the platform adventure games. If we named every single Mario game in history, we'd be here all night (or until someone cut and pasted from www.smbhq.com ).

But I'm perplexed why the original Mario and Luigi game, Mario Bros, isn't on the list (you know, the one where you're kicking troopa ass in the sewer). And then there's the original Japanese Super Mario Bros. 2, the Lost Levels. Those are some cool games too.

That game wasn't part of the Super Mario Franchise, it was just 2 plumbers that could jump as far as I am concerned.;)

But it is still a Mario game. And that's what this thread is about.

THis thread is about the origonal Mario Brothers games. Lost levels was only released in Japan untill All Stars came out. Theore fore, I see it as a bonus game. SSB and SSMB is not a platform game, so i left it out (i enjoyed SSBM). The arcade Mario Brothers has the same train of thought in my opionon as Lost Levels. It was never a full feature game untill they ported it to the GBA in all of the various Super Mario Brohters Advanced games. Mario Cart, non-platformer.

But if you want to get technical, Lost Levels is an original Mario game since Mario originates in Japan. The game America knows as Super Mario Bros 2 is actually a game called Doki Doki Panic, only with Mario, Luigi, Peach, and Toad inserted as the main characters, and wasn't originally a Mario game.

I scare myself. I can't believe I know all this crap.

1GF the Geekmaster. Kinda catchy, eh?

Although if we're going to get technical and say that every game with Mario as the main character counts in here, then Super Mario RPG should be in the poll as well since Mario was the main character; platformer or not. In which case, that one would get my vote since I had the most fun with it.

After buying a used copy of Super Mario All Stars, I did. But only by using one of those clouds that let you skip a level. There is this fucking castle in world eight were you have to pick exactly the right door and there's like a hundred of them everywhere. It blows.

Bowser is a pushover in that game though. As long as you know how to beat him.

Of course it was. It was the first one with a save feature. Plus you could always go back to other levels, power up, start/select out, and go back to the other levels giving you trouble. Or you could go to that secret area that only has the power ups (and if you have a Yoshi, you can just keep going back there and getting extra lives).

It's not bad once you get the hang of it. I always have the most trouble on 8-3, where there's Hammer Bros all over the place.
