Appearantly Ben Affleck has signed on to play George Reeves in the biopic Truth, Justice, and the American Way. Or at least accoriding to this news story I just pulled from IMDB:

---

Affleck Takes Massive Pay Cut

Hollywood star Ben Affleck has waived his usual multi-million dollar fee to play actor George Reeves in a desperate bid to regain critical acclaim and box office success. The struggling actor's last four films - Gigli, Paycheck, Jersey Girl and Surviving Christmas - all flopped, but he hopes playing the Superman star in Truth, Justice And The American Way , who was mysteriously shot dead in Beverly Hills in 1959, will impress audiences and revive his flagging career. And Affleck is so convinced the fact-based drama is the perfect project for him at this juncture of his life, he's taken a massive pay cut - and will only earn $2.8 million. Oscar-winning actor Adrien Brody co-stars in the upcoming film as a detective investigating Reeves' death. The movie is scheduled to begin filming this summer.

---

Taking a smaller pay check is a respectable move. He already has more than enough money to get him through the next decade. But George Reeves? I haven't seen that old Superman show in a long time but from what I recall, they look nothing alike. I hope this will be some sort of make up miricle like Will Smith in Ali.

But this should be interesting, since it's being released the same year as Brian Singer's Superman. Talk about well timed.

Interesting. Though doesn't DD count as a flop too? Shouldn't it be in that list?

Daredevil made $100 million domesticly on a $70 million budget and did pretty damn good on DVD. It was criticly slammed, but it didn't flop (although I can't say the same for the ill-fated spin-off Elektra).

Yeah, I wouldn't consider DD a flop either.
Lots of people hated it, but it did well anyway.
